Bro I'm 6'4" and 220# The doors are the heaviest I have ever pulled off. I have done mine 2x plus once on the 78 plus once on my old T/A. The T/A was worst with power windows and locks.

On the busted cage nut. Just cut three sides and peal it back. Don't weld the nut to the frame to stop it, you'll have issue aligning the subframe when you reinstall. You can tack the cage back down if the weld has snapped.

I made my own cart too. I think I'm going to buy one though. I spent $40 on casters and I just don't like my design. That or truly "make one" instead of welding two stands together that work was throwing away. That welder is a heavy beast too!

 

Those doors will break your back! I made a frame out of wood and used tie down rachet straps to hold my door. The whole thing hooks to my floor jack and worked great for me. I covered the wood with carpet to protect the doors after I got it back from paint. I can really finesse the doors into place and not ding anything doing it with the floor jack.
My buddy and his brother use an old grocery cart they found by the road for their welding cart. They just cut the front and sides off, then made a chain to hold the bottle, and the welder sits in front.
I paid $40 new for a really nice welding cart at Harbor Freight. The welder sits on top and it has two shelves for various tools and junk below. They're well worth the cost, and come in Miller blue too!

Yeah, I'm 5'11" and 156lbs and had a heck of a time just trying to manuver them around on a roll around seat.

I'm probably just gonna throw something together for a welding cart right now, I know $50 isn't much but right now with school I got lucky and my job is keeping me on from noon to 5pm on fridays and 9 to 3 on saturdays. I'll be getting like $80/$90 bucks a week, So not alot of dough to spend but I want to get the hang of school and not have to worry about working everyday for awhile.
I might just be lazy and not get a second job till summer lol idk yet time will tell.

I want to have time to play and work on the car and still have fun in these years while I've got em, I've realized that if I want to do it right I'm gonna need to wait awhile till I can get enough saved up to do it right as far as working on the car goes. So I'm gonna take it slow with small steps, next thing I'm gonna buy is new solid body bushings like these Global West Suspension 809 - Global West Suspension Interloc Body Mount Bushings - Overview - SummitRacing.com that way I can put the sub frame back under the car as soon as I need too in case I've got to move it, I'm not sure if those come with new nuts or not though.

No new work on the car today, I forgot to get blades for the air cut off but I'll try to get those tomorrow after school. Got orientation out of the way today and bought my book for class which was supposed to be a $90 dollar rental book but it turned out to be $139 to rent so I just bought it for $144 which put a dent in my car funds but oh well all in all everything went pretty good.

 

I have $255 worth of books to by this week. My Pell will cover some but not all. I can't wait to start going to work and school again. Kicks my ***.

 

Yeah, I'm by no means saying I've got it rough. I know I'm lucky with only one book right now and only $150 in it.

 

I wasn't trying to imply that you were. Didn't even cross my mind really. I was just saying I know how you feel. Plus I had just went over what books I needed on the colleges website so everything was fresh in my mind when I read your post.

LOL You know how rough I have it? I HAVE to go bowling every Friday afternoon for 2 months. Its my phys. ed. credit. I have no idea why I need a $40 book for it though.
