Default Steering wheel stuck

Hey guys, I wanted to remove my steering wheel to put leather on it etc.... So I bought a puller and set everything up, I ended up bending the screws because I had to turn so hard but the steering wheel just won‘t come off it‘s stuck or whatever. So please if anyone got some advice for me how to fix this stuck steering wheel problem please let me know I would be really happy about it !! Thank you

Did you remove the center nut?
Are you using an actual steering wheel puller? Sometimes you need to whack on the end of the puller with a hammer, tighten it a little more and whack again, repeat.
