That's the nice thing about these older cars, the turn signal cancelling pin is on the back of the steering wheel, so moving the wheel a notch or two as needed will keep things "right".
No need to center the front wheels at the steering linkage.

Remove the horn button or crossbar, if Deluxe s/wheel, and look for a notch on the shaft, should be at 12 o'clock, and a corresponding mark on the s/wheel.
The two marks should line up denoting proper alignment of s/wheel to shaft.
On steering box, the flat under the rag joint pinch bolt should be at 12 o'clock.
At center link, it should be at right angles to the Pitman arm and idler arm - both arms should be parallel to subframe.
