when i got my car ,i thought someone had spilled a coke or two on my steering wheel.i washed mine down with paint thinner several times and it is still sticky.i think its because its old.you find something that works let me know

haha thats funny you mention it. because on my 79 the wheel was always sticky. it was sticky cause it had one of those wrap around covers on it. i used simple green and some stuff called grease lightning that worked pretty well. but im glad to know that im not the only guy with a sticky wheel in my hands [sm=icon_quiet.gif]

Remember, if there is something that is water-based that's making it sticky (like built-up hand grunge embedded by moisture/humidity), trying to get it off with a solvent won't cut through it. Sometimes, plain ol' water works wonders.
That goes for anything, even spills. Solvent-based, clean with a solvent. Water-based, clean with water.

also you could try a product called general adhesive remover, works pretty darn good, pulls up all the old glues, might have to go over it a couple times
