Default issues starting after sitting for a while(No crank from Key)

I am taking over restoring my fathers 1978 LT. I pulled starter had it tested works fine. Cleaned it up reinstalled it. Put jumper on starter and it turn engine no problems. I turn key and I get nothing tested volts on starter wire at starter while turning key and nothing. Tested power at battery terminal and ground on starter itself and it gets over 12.30volts. tested volts at nuetral safty switch purple wire/ white strip that other end goes into ignition switch. 0 turn key i get 12.3volt. What else can i test? The interior is not finished I just put in dash but cluster isnt installed yet or anything else. I did try again with cluster installed and still same thing turn key get radio and buzzer but turn to start and not even a click. I am not sure what to check next I am not sure what wire goes out of ignition switch to the fuse box or through firewall to starter. Not sure what he path is.

Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

After NSS, the next item is firewall connection, then to starter.
Also, the ignition switch on top pf column under dash, may need adjusting. Good luck

Thank you, how does the firewall connection work? Is there a connector there or does it just go though firewall behind fuse box? How do I adjust the ignition switch? Sorry for asking so much I am new to this but determined to get this running. So is the path key cylinder triggers ignition switch that send signal to NSS the NSS thru firewall to starter? Wires I have checked are ignition switch purple wire to NSS, outside firewall the wire is a burnt orange color, do you know what color it is once it goes through firewall to the NSS? is it the same purple/white line wire on inside?

The firewall connection is an electrical plug - male/female spade terminals.
Same purple wire from NSS to S terminal on starter solenoid.
Orange wire is another function/circuit.
Suggestion is buy a Haynes manual for yourself and the Camaro and use it as reference.

Check the wiring and the starter as well, Also for any future problems .With a stock and or Tilton style starter I use a Moroso heat shield and use a heat sleeve for the starter and battery wires and cable .

Thanks I have checked starter already i removed it and cleaned it. The wire on S terminal is a burnt orange color I traced to firewall plug behind brake booster. Also tested from there to starter with continuity tester and its same wire. The care is stock I know for sure wire is original. My dad bought car new in 1978. I just dont see the wire coming in on inside of plug. Maybe i run a new wire from NSS to the burnt orange color wire and see if that engages the starter. If it does I think there a break from there to behind fuse box. could it be maybe bad ignition module? I dont really think so since it send bower to NSS when key is tuned. I also tried jumping NSS same thing.

Firdt, buy a Haynes manual for reference, always helps.
If orange wire, then, this is it.
If you sub in a new wire, use minimum 8 AWG and you might run it separately through firewall to solenoid S terminal to NSS, or last place Starter solenoid power is seen.

I ran a test 8 AWG wire from output from NSS to the orange wire that was cut behind brake booster. After doing this I get it to crank so there is an issue from NSS to other side. Is there any connections between there? Or is it just a wire going through? would like to just fix old wire fix dont want to add new wire if i dont really have to.
