Default Door lock *****

Hello ever body. I'm new to this forum and a few months ago I got me a 1980 Camaro Z28 and I have been doing some work on it and I was going to replace the old chrome door lock ***** but I have been have a problem get a set that will screw on to the door lock rod I have gotten three sets of after market ones two I got through Camaro Central and one set I got off ebay and none of them will work. Now I don't know if this has anything to do with it but the car was built in Canada and the car from I was told only has a little over 28 thousand miles on the car and from what I tell that true. Well anyway I was wondering if any one else has had this problem. I will put up a pic of the car and a pic of one of the new door lock *****.

2nd gen Camaros were never built in Canada, only 4th and 5th gen.

I had the same issue you have when replacing the ***** on my '81 Z28. I ended up cutting off about 1/4" from the threaded rod and everything worked perfect.

Nice looking ride.

Mike.

Thanks for the reply I was thinking I can't be the only one having this problem. I just got back from the hardware store and we couldn't find a bolt that would thread in the door lock ****. And seeing I have three sets of these I will give your way a try. Man aftermarket parts are for crap now a days.
