67 4 speed or automatic shifter hole

67 4 speed or automatic shifter hole
have a 67 with the original 4 speed. going to put in a automatic. Is the hole in the trans tunnel the same . if i put new carpet in now new year when i do the trans swap am i going to have to put a new carpet in again because the hole is smaller or bigger?
