Default Is this worth it???

I was wondering if this looks like a good deal. It's got 30k miles on it.

I'd steer clear of an LS1 if you're considering it for your 76 Camaro. Not enough variety of god performance parts to be a consideration for a retrofit. If it was a compete engine that was already built at a resonable price I'd say yes. But it will be much cheaper to build up your 350 than to dig up the rest of the parts needed for the LS1 and a buildup too.
Take a look at Jeg's or Summit for LS1 performance parts and you'll see what I mean. I know a guy who's building one for his '68 Camaro and he's pretty frustrated at the limited parts and cost for them. He's got big bucks tied up in a hi rise manifold to make his LS1 carbureted. I think Summit shows one intake for carbed LS1 and Jegs is the same. Almost nothing beyond GM for heads, and then there's the ignition system to sort out! Really want an engine with 8 ugly coils sitting on the valve covers? They work good, but not much can make them look good!

not to mention all the headache involved if you made it fuel injected with the ecu and wiring harness alone will set you back a pretty penny and ive heard that it is like torture trying to wire them up

Yea, I wouldn't mess with fuel injection. That's why I'd keep it carburated.

600 bucks for an intake is abit much. Plus I'm not a fan of anything I didn't screw together myself. I've guys take short cuts that a just downright scary. Like a roofing nail between the master cylinder and the rear brake line.

Ok decided not to go with an LS motor. But how about this one. Would this block be any good?

What's wrong with rebuilding the one you have? You'd save $300 right out the gate.

Because I need something to drive while I build it.

you could always buy the ls1 and build it slowly peice by peice and build it just the way u want it and put it back and put it in your camaro or another car if you decide to build another in the future you could make a little ratrod with a ls1 it would deffinatly be different

I'm not sure I'd pay $300 for a core 350, unless it's all apart and you can look it over good. Might be an anchor, and you'd be out $300, unless the seller will give some guarantee that if it checks out bad he'll refund your money.
