its a 73 camaro SS lol it has a 350 out of a later pickup becuase trucks came with 4 bolt mains it was built about 15 years ago with fuille heads 2.02,.30 over and what ever else you do,has a four barrel carb HEI ignition all new cap rotor plugs plug wires that did not fix its problem. quits pulling at 5 grand it also has a 14inch open air cleaner which in new also.

the only thing i can think of right now... is that if its not a stock ignition module, it may have rev limiter build in. when you accelerating when you hit 5 g does it feel like you hit a brick wall like a govener kick in?

no it trys but it takes a lot longer than it should it didnt all ways have this problem so i dont think its the ignition module.it starts to really slow down at 4600rpms and when it gets to 5 grand it sounds like it is trying but for some reason it just cant.

1: Timing is incorrectly set (not enough advance) Or Timing chain has play.
2: Carb is running out of fuel (fuel pump or filter) or an issue with float
3:enginecan not breath (Cat, converter or smashed tail pipe)
4: Valve floating
5: Your secondary ignition (cap rotor wires) can not fire the plugs at the higher pressure cause by the higher load on the car.
