Default Wheres Waldo?!?

I just bought an 81 z28 stock for 600 thats in need of ,from the looks of it, 60% restoration mostly body work but I have hope and its my first car so its what I expected .I've read that camaros like these only have 190 horsepower. I was wondering if theres anyway to increse that without having to replace the entire engine. any tips would help even if its not about the above like for instance the trasmission cooler and where its located ( have a bad tansmission leak)

Tear off the emissions crap if your local regulations would allow it, put a good intake manifold on it. You can also change out the camfor some added power but don't get one too wild for a stock bottom end. You can get it easily to at least 275 without much trouble, even with stock heads...

The cat., the EGR, anything you can see on there that is for emissions. But make sure you know what you take off isn't needed for the thing to run properly. You can also add a dual exhaust system and it'll help a little bit. Again, just make sure that it's not against emissions laws in your area.

275HP really? well i have a 79 which is very similar to the 81 (if not the same)

what things are required for emissions here in CA? LA? if it makes any difference. some one told me that only the EGR and that i could just run streight pipes, is it true?

anyways, saaampson do u have pictures of you car? just for curiosity i like to see what other people have.
