ok picture this, you have a 81 camaro with a 383 pushing out 460hp/450tq and you have 1000 to spend on the suspension..that includes labor, if needed.. what would you buy to help with suspension for strip/street and everyday driving?

I'd buy a pair of Lakewood traction bars, a set of poly bushings for all the body mounts, suspension, etc. That would be around $600 total, so I'd use what's leftover for heavy duty sway bars front and rear or at least front, if funds wouldn't cover both. But a set of frame connectors would be nice too!

but aren't subframe connectors needed with that high of hp and tq too? and there might be clearance issues with the traction bars and rear sway bar?

Hotchkis makes a full suspsension package for $1150 for second gens.

I've had my eye on that and some bilstein shocks, aluminum body mounts and a couple of other goodies.

Yes, that's why I added that as an afterthought. No, sway bars are behind the axle, while traction bars are in front. I've got both on my 71 Camaro.
