I'm leaning towards finding some sort of Chevy emblem that's flat and will be self adhesive to stick over the Ram.

You'd be better off stitching a patch over the ram. Google search of chevrolet patch brings up plenty of images to choose from. You probably could do it without removing the covers.

Yeah I was thinking I could even use some sort of super adhesive to put a Chevy patch over the Ram by masking off the area around the patch so it wouldn't flow outside the pattern.

Yep! I remember when mine looked pretty similar! It's always neat to see how ugly they get just before they get real pretty!
