No, I've been stripping everything with a flapper disc. I'm concerned about residue, and not being able to get it all out of nooks and crevices.

Here is the picture of the new window and the chrome. I haven't seen that chrome in years.

Today, I added a giant tranny cooler (small intercooler).
Checked for leaks in the nitrous and adjusted the valves again.

Well, that can't be a good day. I remember drag racing with my FIL, there were a few days we would get there, and something totally stupid would be missing out of the equation, or something insanely un-plausible would go wrong, and that was it. Done. At the time he had a rail dragster, it was cool, but you could not just take it out in the country and test it out. And, you needed a quarter mile to turn it around. Now he has a Pro Street Vega, but he hasn't raced in about 3 years. Too many years of not paying attention to his house and garage have caught up to him, and he's been trying to put those back to rights. I think his goal this year is to get the car street legal just so he can take it to cruise night.

Love V8 Vegas! Always wanted to build an early Vega, but they're really hard to find these days around here!

It is a really cool car. I've got a picture of his dragster that he had tucked in one of his engine building books he let me borrow. Before I give it back to him I need to scan it. I need to get some pics of his vega too. I'll have to ask for some the next time I see him. He's got a lot of work done to it. The thing is, the motor is moved back like a foot, along with the firewall, so the car is not comfortable for him. It would really be better for a shorter person. He's talked about moving the firewall and engine forward, but that would require alot of work, a new driveshaft and probably alot of things I'm not even sure about.

Paint looks great from 10 feet away. It is a well sprayed paint job and shines up great. But the body work freaking sucked. Entire car needs redone. Most people say it is a race car and to leave it alone. Some day it will get quarters and new paint.

I think it was a high school shop project or something.
They rocked the grinder and didn't properly block it.

Looks great on a Friday night after a good waxing. The night lights hide the grinder marks.
