Thanks Steve. Hard to imagine there's only 2 yrs. difference in the two Austins. His is so far advanced in body design and size. About a foot longer and 6" wider.

The NW Drag RAcing Assn. had their annual swap meet today! I love swap meets, even if I don't find anything, but I found everything I wanted and more today! Was looking for the 2nd Simpson harness for my car and got a box of outdated harnesses (including a Simpson!) for $15.
Also looking for something to cover the old glovebox opening that never had a door, and I wanted something with some bling. I found a nice old chrome dash grille from a 40's or early 50's GMC truck, with a little ashtray for change. With a little mod. it fits beautifully, and really dresses up the plain dash too! Hard to tell in the pic, as it looks black, but the chrome is like new!
I also was looking for center caps for my old slotted mags. They are tapped for 5 mounting screws and I wanted a flat cap, but ran across an old set of American knockoffs which are impossible to find! Got the pair of knockoffs and the bases for a measely $15! Boy was I happy with that! They really look period on the old slots!
Found some nice old mirrors to mount on my front door edge too. The original ones were out on my fenders and with my seats set back I couldn't begin to see anything beside me. These are really cool items, and easy to install!
And before leaving the swap meet I ran across a nice oxy-acetylene torch set complete with cart, cutting tip, several welding tips, semi-large tanks(full!) and a nice set of Harris gauges and 25' hoses. Picked the whole set up for $200! Always wanted a set like this around the garage, and I couldn't pass them up at such great price!
There was a really nice Sportsman class SBC powered rear engine rail there for around $5k that was awfully tempting, but I couldn't figure out how I'd explain it to my wife, so I decided I better quit and get out of there!
One of the best swap meets I've attended in many years!

Yeah, guys were really ready to deal! Nobody turned down and offer, especially if I was willing to walk away. The welding setup was marked $325, and when I offered $200 he quickly came back with $250, then $225, and as I turned to leave he said OK to my $200 offer.

I need to sell some of my stuff so I can get the money to buy the 78 Type LT I have been looking at. Anyone here interested in a 90Gal Aquarium full setup including hand crafted stand and hood? R/C cars (some vintage and still fully functional) R/C race boats (Unlimited Hydro 1/8th scale Miss Elam Plus). Or just donate to my needs-a-Camaro fund!! Just let me know!
