What did you do to your camaro today
I saw some that my FIL had dyed, they looked "OK", it didn't look right though. I think that they were grey. I believe he used SEM on them, but I'm not sure. I'd be interested in what you did too. I'll be needing to get me some eventually here, and I'm thinking of getting them out of a 4th gen, and gray seems to be the standard, black maybe out of a TA...
Planned to spend the day finishing up interior on the Austin, but need another yard of naugahyde so I got sidetracked. Instead I pulled the front wheels to polish them with my Flitz ball. Then decided to clean and paint the hubs, and calipers up front. Got carried away and cleaned and painted the axle and the steering shaft/steering box too. Long as I was cleaning and painting I cleaned and painted the inside of the trunk too.
Tomorrow I'll get more material and finish the trim, then I need to replace the used radio I put in it. It keeps searching for stations, and wont stop at any. Wasted time installing it, but I got plenty of time!

I used RIT dye, but unfortunately, after returning from school today I saw that the dye had not really taken in. Darn polyester. They only got like... a shade or two darker. No where near black/as dark as i want them. But i hear you can use some sort of special dye made for just polyester. Google "polyester dyes" and there should be some results.
pulled off the battery tray, inner fender, evaporator, cruise control unit and wiper fluid reservoir. I painted the inner fender and going to get a new battery tray since it was all rotted out. Next step is to remove AC condenser and replace body bushings which i hope to do this weekend
Beautiful sunny day, mid 50's, and so we went for a drive. Buddy and I took our cars for a short cruise. I need to get going on tearing the rearend out to change out the gears for something a bit lower!
Thanks Steve! It was way cheaper than building a 2nd gen Camaro!
lol, I bet it was. And probably just as fun to drive too. My wife wants a Chevelle next, so I'll be going that route. This weekend I'm cleaning the garage so I can go back to tinkering on the car in my spare time. She informed me that she would like it running by summer. Good enough for me, I'll finish it.
