Want to change gear drive to chain

Default Want to change gear drive to chain

is it a big deal to remove my gear drive and install a dbl chain? do i set the timing afterwards or do just swap out?

You'll need to drop the front of the oil pan down to clear the inner lip of the timing chain cover. Otherwise it's a fairly simple swap. I would also advise using a lock tab for the cam bolts. You could use loctite, but I've known of them still backing out with that. And even though the cam and crank gears go on one way, you'd still want to line up the marks to double check your work.

Thats the bast animation I've ever seen. I agree. I would pull the cover and line the marks up and the do the swap to the chain and it should be dead on.

I had geardrive in my 84 camaro a few years back and I got rid of it after about a month because I was tired of people asking me why my power steering was making so much noise. it sounds good on someone else's car then you get it and it becomes annoying everyday.
