Vacuum question
I'm trying to trace the vacuum lines on my 80Z, and have found some have been removed...some have not. On the thermostat housing, there are two vacuum switches screwed in.....on one, there are no hoses attached...should I plug the open ports on thw switch, or let as is? The car has been losing power when warm, and I give it a good amount of gas, but when I back off throttle, it's OK. As you can imagine this creates quite a problem when going up hills! Could the vacuum situation be causing this?

I already brought up one of the open vacuum switches that I saw, and you didn't respond.
As for the one with no vacuum hoses on it, no you don't have to plug it since there's no vacuum source connected to it.

A simple test is with the air cleaner off, put both hands over a 4 bbl carb, If the engine revs you have a vac leak. This is old school stuff. Vacuum matters at the manifold, not at silly places like the temp sensors.Plug any hole going to the carb or the manifold.
Hey Cam69...
Oh yea, the Vacuum switch you mentioned is connected to the air cleaner. Since the air cleaner damper was disconnected by previous owner, I'm assuming it's a non factor.
In working on this engine problem, I have now replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, and disconnected EGR... what's next?....Carb....distributor components...?
