Hi,

I brought a Big Block last year which i'm putting together. The water pump which is on it has ATF 30926 0402 stamped on it, but i can't find any information on it. Can anyone tell me where to find this info or if they know anything about them.

Is it iron? If yes its probably stock or stock replacement. A pic would serve you better.

 

Never heard of it, but over here it doesn't matter much, as Chevy water pumps are cheap. Is there some reason to worry about the water pump? Do you think it might be bad, or?

 

Yes it's made from iron.

So you think it's a stock replacement?

I don't think that it's faulty, just that i want to put this engine togther with good quality parts. So it performs well and is trouble free.

 

Iron is most likely a stock replacement, and usually good if the pump hasn't been sitting so long the seals dried up. Since a water pump is so easy to change on the car, I'd try it and if it leaks, then change it.

 

Just so the shaft where the fan bolts to isn't wobbling around I would give it a try.
