Sounds like he'll be selling the trans to recoup what he paid for it.

Im not sure hos long exactly the tail shaft is. I was under there looking at it and it looked kinda long to me. Im hoping and praying that it fits ok. But on the bright side, I only paid 75 bucks for this new tranny, and if it comes down to it, i will rebuild the one thats in it now and put a shift kit in it, or jsut go with the 700r4. It will fit into a 1975 drive line with out major modifications right? And shoot who knows, maybe the new one will fit, I havent picked it up yet, Im taking a road trip on sunday to go get it.

Why not measure the tailshaft on your's and call the seller to make sure it's right? Might save you $75 and a road trip.
As with TH400 or 350 the 700R4 comes in different lengths too, so you need to know your total length of the trans and take that info with you when you're shopping for a new one. Save yourself some grief and get your ducks lined up before buying a trans.

Good news, I got the new transmission today and it is the same exact one thats in it now. It was even rebuilt after it was pulled and built up. It has a shift kit and a deep pan on it too. Im quite happy with it. So this weekend shes gonna have a new trans.

Now a dumb question, how do i get the driveshaft off of the old transmission? I cant figure it out haha. Transmissions are not my thing, Im good with engines.

This is what ive been looking at on the driveshaft. Its right after it comes out of the transmission and I cant find any bolts on it at all, and if they are there I cant see them.
