transmission swap
So I tried to drive the Camaro today and when i first took off, everything seemed fine, but when i gave it some gas it slipped right out of gear. I know the transmission is completely shot, i just need tips on doing a swap as Ive never done one before. So any tips are much appreciated.

Are we talking automatic or manual trans? If automatic, are you sure it's an internal slipping, as opposed to the trans slipping out of gear from having maladjusted linkage, etc.?

Its the TH350 auto trans. I'm sure its slipping internally because it will go if i barely touch the gas and it will shift too. But if i get on it, it slips out of gear. Its the original transmission and the car has 155,000 miles on it.

Rats! Before I could take Damon up on the bet too!
Pretty simple to pull the trans either way. Just drop the driveline and have a pan ready to catch fluid from the tailshaft. Then remove the cooler lines and the modulator hose. Pull the torque converter pan and turn the engine to get at the 3 bolts to the flywheel. Then pull the 6 bolts that hold the bellhousing to the engine. Drop the tranny with a good tranny jack after removing the bolts holding the crossmember at each end, and the trans mount. Watch the dipstick tube while you're letting it down, so it wont get damaged.
