I recently came across some kits to put sequential taillights in a 79 trans am. I am pretty jealous. I have always liked the all red taillight lenses of the 79 trans am better than those of the camaro with the orange turn signals. My question is, will either the whole taillight assembly or even just the taillight lenses for a 79 trans am fit my 79 camaro? They appear to be fairly similar in shape. Has anyone ever seen this done?

 

They are different enough that they are not interchangeable.

 

Trans Am tail lights are flat across the back of the car, while Camaro tail lights wrap around the corners.
So they are not interchangeable.

 

They're too different compared to the Camaro's light. The Camaro's light curve at the quarter panel, the T/A's are flat and across the whole bumper area.

Have you thought about tinting the whole thing a dark shade of red?
