Default which tires should I use?

I'm going to run 295/50-15's on a 15x10 wheel on the back but should I run 195/60-14's or 205/70-14's with my 14x7 wheel on the front? I know 195 might be a little thin for a 7" wheel but it would give my car a raked look since its about 3" smaller than the back, whereas the 205's are about 1.5" smaller than the back so would give a smaller raked look. Which should I go with?

Didn't you say you were gonna go big block? That will give you all the rake you want right there. I would worry about bangin headers and oil pan on the ground. Ever pull it to someones driveway and scrap the headers then the slapper bars.

Just something to think about. I do a ton of what ifs in my head, but I try to see the bigger picture too. a good set of springs would be your solution.

yeah im going big block. I have scraped my headers on road bumps even now with my small block lol

so your saying to go with the taller tires(the 205's) and just give springs if i wanna drop the front anymore? or good springs and shocks to minimize suspension travel?

The big block will drop your front end, you'll get a rake from that. I can't picture what the two tire sizes look like being 14's. I would put big block springs in it after putting the motor in. Thats all I'm really trying to say. I just would hate to see you put the short ones on there and then be in real trouble with the new motor. You could just do it and see, then pic up different front tires if it don't work out. 14 inch tire are'nt as expensive as they used to be.

maybe i will just put on the 205's. it would still give a subtle rake look since there 1.5" shorter than the back and if i need to drop it any further after getting the big block in there, i can just get lowering springs or something

Go with 60's in the front. That will give you lower front end if you've got 60's out back also. I think either tire is too narrow for a 7" rim, and with a big block you want plenty of tire up front. I'm running 235-60's up front and plenty of air in them at around 40 lbs.

Jason7504> Remember that the first set of numbers are the width of the tire in mm and the second is the sidewall height's ratio in comparison to the width. A 245/60/15 tire is smaller than a 235/50/15 tire (245 is 24.6inches and the 235 is 26.1). You would actually have to use a 285/50/15 to match the 235/60/15's tire height (26.2 inches). So just stating the first set of numbers really doesn't have anything to do with height.

Yeah I know..with the 235s in front and 295/50" in back there would be about a 1.5" diff(25.10" and 26.61")

My rears are 50's also, and 235-60 in the fronts. Because the rears are so large in width and height, the fronts look tiny by comparison.
