Default Tail light quandry

Ok, I realize this has nothing to do with our beloved Camaro's, but it does have to do with 1157 tail light bulbs. The 1157's have staggered pins on them, on my trailer the right side bulb only seems to work when its in backwards, granted it only works for about 3 hours, but what I was wondering about is... Do they make a bulb with the pins on the opposite sides, just the opposite of how the 1157 is? Please don't scold me for putting this in here, but I kinda know you guys and figured someone here would know. Thanks, Bob

Not that I'm aware of, the dual filament configuration is a universal setup. Could be your socket got messed up. The inner part that has the two contacts (with the spring below) can usually be popped out of the housing. Maybe it came out and got turned around 180 degrees.

I've had issues similar with older sockets on the 1157 style. I usually fix them by wiring in new replacement sockets from NAPA. My local NAPA has a good catalog and gets them in the next day from the warehouse.
I've never been completely sure what happens, but after getting frustrated with short life, or short working, I replace them and all is fine.

Thanks Guys, I'm thinking of just cutting them off and putting LED's on the trailer. Thanks for answering. Bob

Is it a boat trailer? If so, LED's are better because you no longer have to unplug the lights before backing into the water.

It's not a boat trailer, we haul the camaro to the track with it, seeing as the track is about 60 miles from us, and we have a 5 gallon cell in the car, not to mention there aren't that many gas stations that carry E 85 between here and there. Thanks for the input... Here's something I just ran across and I can't believe how good it works. Its called Buschs Super Shine Aluminum Polish. This stuff is amazing. We have Weld Draglites on the car, and they are about 5 years old. I've tried other polishes on them and all i've been able to acomplish is keeping them from pitting and looking like c..p. After about 4 minutes using this stuff the one wheel we did looked like chrome. I'll see if my camera still works and take a before and after shot of them. You can get it right from them. The site is www.buschspolishes.com Some of you have probably been using this stuff for years, but i've just run across it. I'm tossing all my Meguars stuff out. lol. Later guys. Bob
