To make it short, my tachometer hasn't worked since i bought the car, about a year ago, and i want to fix it now, its the original one and the only thing it does is that when i turn the ignition on the neddle moves up a lil bit and then stay at about 1000rpm, but no matter what it never changes until i turn off the car and then it goes back down.

Any ideas on what it could be?

 

check the connection going into the distributer. it could be loose. or the gauge itself is bad, and youll have to take it out of the dash cluster.
