i have a 1979 camaro and somg laws are really getting to me so i was wondering what would be the best swap. and if i did swap the enignie would i have to swap the tranny and put a computer in.

 

Unless your engine is totally worn out, swapping engines is not going to make smog problems go away. You need to find out what is causing the problem and fix it.

 

He is right, the only way it is going to be your engine is if it totally shot. What part of Emissions did you fail in? With mine, it was because a very very very small vacuum leak that cause me to fail horribly. But like I said it depends on which part you failed on.
