Did you just install it? is it aftermarket? Most stereo that have presets require two power supplies. One with the key on and the other is hot all the time. Sound like your power wire that should be hot all the time is hot only with the key on.

If you hook both to the battery the stereo would be on all the time regardless of the key. You hooked both wires to the Key on/off side of the fuse box. Leave the main power wire where it is and hook the acc wire to a power source that is on all the time like the acc fuse. I am sure this is covered in the install instruction.

Just keep pulling fuses untill your dome light goes out. That is the fuse you want. If you have a test light you can just hook it to ground and look for power with the key off.

There is no way the stereo Manufacture can list instruction for every model every year. Since most car made after 1982 have a full time power wire going to them this is not an issue for 99.9% of the installs.

Did you try the test light like I said? I have no luck on this site talking people thru electrical issues.

If your car is not work as it did from the factory and you do not have basic electrical skills I do not see how I can help you. There is no way for me to know what has been changed in you wiring.

You can splice power off your cigarette lighter wire. Those had full time power in earlier cars.
