Default starter system

I am putting a new starter and solenoid into my 67 camaro this weekend, but was wondering should I wait to start it after I get it in the car to get the engine tuned? The box that the new starter came is said if the timing wasn't totally correct it could cause problems with the new starter. If anyone can give me some advice on this it would be greatly appreciated.

i would bump it to make sure the wiring is correct, but dont let it fire until you tune IMO
