Who knows. Yes, the tranny end on the later 2nd gens was threaded, even with a clip at the speedo. Mine is threaded both ends.

ok lets clear this up, i was checking to see if you guys could tell me if it was electronic or mechanical by the pic i posted. I wasnt sure anything about speedos so i didnt know. That pic is of my cable at the dash and it clips into the speedo. My next question was if i baught an original gauge bezel and gauges, will this cable work and just clip onto the speedometer. Sorry for the confusion i hope that clears things up.

It should work. You, like the rest of us have a mechanical speedo. The only thing I think would cause an issue is if you got a 150 MPH speedo. Those only came in the early cars. Vall's is a 150 I think?

Yes, mine is a 150mph, and they are threaded.

I'd get a cluster correct for the year of your car. I'd also get one that has the same gauge setup, or you'll be rewiring. If your's has gauges, not idiot lights, then you want gauges.
Another option is to get a cluster panel, and then install aftermarket gauges and just plumb/wire them to the engine. A little more money, but a nice custom touch.

are all 150 mph speedos screw on cables or what ever? Cause the only ones i can find on ebay is clusters with 150 speedos. And i cant find anyone parting out a camaro of my year, with the cluster.

Yes, all the 150 mph speedos should be threaded. You could get a speedo cable that's threaded on both ends, but I'm still not certain the wiring will match up with later Camaros, so you may be causing yourself another issue by going to an early cluster.
Is your cluster gone, broken, or what?

I have a complete cluster that i am going to pull from my 80 to put autometer gauges in.It has the 130mph speedo with the clip to hold the cable on,not threaded like the 150.The speedo, tach, battery gauge, and temp gauge all work, but the clock does'nt.If your interested let me know and i'll get you some pics, then just throw me an offer.
