Default should I or shouldn't I ?

Before I install the motor (350 SB) in to my 79, should I install the long tube hdrs before or do it after? Will the motor go in easily or is it better to install them later once the motors in.

May be easier to do it while installing the motor. Things are easier to move around while the engine is hanging

Agree, lay in the headers first, then lay in the engine and/or trans.

If I was installing the engine I wouldn't want the headers attached to it. I would drop them into the engine bay, and tie them up with iron tie wire so they stay out of harm's way while lowering the engine in. Then just pull them up in place and bolt them on.

I think I'll go a head and lay them in to the engine bay and tie them up out of the way. That may be the easiest way and less damage to the headers and knuckles. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
