Rims...what tires?
Hello all, I am new to the camaro scene. I have a 81' berlinetta with stock wheels, however my uncle a chevy guy has a set of two 14x7 torq thrusts (front) and two 15x8 torq thrusts (back) that he is going to give me to freshin up the look. My question is what size tires would look good on these wheels with my car...thanks alot[/align]
On my rear 15x7's I have 255/60/15's and on my front I have one size up from stock (235/60/15) and have no problem with rubbing. I think I could get away with a bit bigger in the back but I like the way the 255's look. I think you might also want to know what the backspacing on the new rims would be also to make sure you have clearance.
You can use this calculator to figure up tire sizes. Yeah, I'll probably catch hell for it being a mazda miata site but it's pretty helpful, ha ha. You can visually compare two different tire width and radius on there, just click on the radial button that says, "end" instead of "side". I know that's a gimme, but I didn't see it till the third or fourth time I used the site.

https://camaroforums.com/m_244796/tm.htmthese are my new rims they rub in the front a little, but you should make sure you put BFGoodrich Radial T/A's with the white letters out for the cool old school look, post up pics when you put them on.
73camaross: Those rims and tires look pretty sick, what is the backspacing on them? I've been reading through other posts and is 4.5" backspacing going to be too much? Everyone seems to be running 3.75" or 4".
there stock camaro back spacing you should beable to fit 235 in the front with 7 inch rims and 8 inch in the rear,if you are going for the in the wheel well look the bigest i would go is 265 maybe a 275 will fit and if your going for the air shock look you should beable to fit a 295/50/15 in the back. oh and thanks for the complimant on my rims the cost me a pretty penny. i got them from stocktonwheels.com.
