rebuild carb on 77 after sitting up for 1-2 years
Actually, having the timing too far advanced can be more evident with a hot engine versus a cold engine. Fuel is more apt to pre-detonate on a hot engine, which then tries to kick the pistons back down before they get to the top. Still not sure from your description if you're having a slow cranking or no cranking problem? If your engine is going rump-rump-rump as you crank it (insert jokes here), then adjust the timing to be less advanced. But if you're just getting a "click" when hot, it's more than likely a starter heat soak problem.
hey---thanks for the replies,i must of had a brainfart, the ground used to be connected to the alternator bracket ,but during all the changing i put a new chrome one on with differant bracing and then moved the wire---just forgot---i was looking at running it back to the top of the aluminum intake---you think that will be good enough--thanks
i should put up some pictures--would blow your mind,i changed the front end to a 70-73 and also cut the quarters and the whole rear and changed it to a 70-73----painted it with baldwin motion stripes---looks just like a 70-73 except for the wrap around back windshield that didnt come out till 75---had a die hard old car guy think that i actually took a 70-73 body and cut a wrap around back windshield in--lol
