its like $200 for richmond gears though

and since its gonna be a hod rod or weekend warrior type car with an occasional drag race when i get the crate engine, would just a posi work better or should i get a locker?

When you are through fooling arond with wimpy stuff, try the 14 bolt GM 3/4 ton rear end. Full floating axles, 10-1/2" ring gear, up to 5.12:1 ratios, detroit locker available.

14 bolt axles are extremely strong, but who wants that huge hub sticking out the center of their wheel on a nice classic Camaro? Then there's the problem of bolt patterns. Can't get a 5 bolt pattern small enough to fit around that huge hub too.
I'll stick with a 10 or 12 bolt, even though they aren't as strong as a 14 bolt.

Oh what's wrong with a little bit of a hub showing? Slap a bowtie emblem on it and you're good to go!
