will a posi out of a 87 monte carlo ss fit into a 80 camaro without a problem?

No they are not interchangeable. The 80 Camaro is a 28 spline differential & the 87 Monte Carlo is a 26 spline differential.

Not only are they different spline but also im almost positive the 87 monte carlo has the 10 bolt 7.5 ring and pinion. The 80 camaro has a 10 bolt but the ring and pinion is 8.5 so it won't fit.

the monte carlo is a coil spring car where as the camaro is a leaf spring car.you can make it work but it would be alot of work.change all the mounting brackets,shock mounts .
