rear axel noise
the other day i noticed for the first time a wierd noise when i make hard tunrs. i thought it was the exhaust rubbing the tire when i went into the turn hard. but i looked and shook the car and the exhaust does not hit it. you can feel it in the tire when it makes the noise. its like a flapping noise. i have no idea and i hope i didnt destroy my axel...anyone have any ideas???
how do i check if the axel is hitting the the thinger, i poped the wheels off and it does move like a really tiny amount. both sides do it. but its so small it barly moves. but when the noise happens. you feel it!
it could be also the brake shoes could be loose and could be slapping and the hubs. or maybe a bracket broke or a shock let loose or a coil spring broke or the rear swaybar broke.**** dude i cant think of anything else.
If it dose not affect the car, then drive it till it gets worse. It's hard to diagnose a flapping nois over the internet. My only suggestion is the same as 80's, pull the cover and look for metal.
