quick noob question

Default quick noob question

brand new here on the forum. have 79 camaro with a 350. is the vacuum advance from the distributor in these cars full or timed? i need to know because im putting on a new carb.

According to the assembly manual it is a timed advanced. All the port vacuum switchs are referred to as timed switches.

thanks. this is my first muscle car that i've personally gotten my hands dirty working on. so im learning a lot. all of you guys will be hearing more from me as time goes on.

if your using an edlebrock carb its really easy to figure out which port is what. the port which his higher up is the part time. i think they tell you what is what. with some instructions. i dont know what your running. but the edlebrocks are the most common amung us....get some pics up
