Default Questions about 2nd Gen

I'm thinking about trading my 1994 Z28 for a 1980 Camaro with a 305. What kinds of things should I look for to be wrong with this car? Other than checking fluids and such.

Does the car come with a automatic or standard transmission? Did they ever replace the transmission. Do a compression check on the engine before buying, or have someone do it for you. Take it to a reliable mechanic and have him go through the car. Make sure all of the electrical compnent work. Has the wiring harness been chopped? Look for bondo and rust, check the floodboards underneath to be sure it's not rotted out.

Also check the interior make sure that its all there! As others have said before the interior pieces for these cars will nickel and dime you to death. I would also check the brakes and the suspension and make sure that the rear leaf springs aren't sagging. They can be changed out easily enough if they are but it one less thing that you have worry about if they are in good enough shape.
