Default Question about Front Lights ….

I have an 80 Camaro 2Dr Coup. My question is about front side lights.

The front left blinker and front left side light ‘blink’ when I select left blinker.

The front right blinker and front right side light ‘blink’ when I select right blinker.

All 4 of those lights ‘blink’ when I turn Hazards ON.

When I pull my headlight **** halfway out, nothing on the front of my car turns ON. Not even the front side lights.

When I pull my headlight **** all the way out, only the headlights turn ON.

I have not driven my Camaro in 25 years, but I think the front should have front parking lights.

I replaced the headlight switch and checked all fuses. I have a Service Manual and the diagrams look like the front side lights should turn ON with the headlight switch. I have checked all the blinker bulbs and made sure they are correct, type 1157 that have 2 offset pins. The front side lights are type 194.

Should the headlight switch turn ON the side lights or is my car working properly? Any suggestion on what might be wrong?

I suspect a bad ground.
Do your side markers blink with your front lights, or opposite the front lights?

My side markers blink with my front blinker lights. All blink with hazards. When I turn on my head lights, I measure 12 volts at the side markers, but they don't come on. So I need to follow the ground path after my side markers. At least, that's where I stand today.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, as it can help in your troubleshooting.

With headlights off, side and front blink together.
With parking or headlights on, side and front alternate (one is on when the other is off).

I just confirmed this on my 71 and 81.

This is why I suspect a ground issue.

Thanks for checking that out. They blink with head lights on. So think your right about the ground path. I will follow the ground path.

I finally found my grounding problem. I measured an open circuit from the front blinker (side post) to chassis. I pulled out the ground wire from the connector and it was very rusty and not making a connection. I put in a temporary ground and the front parking lights work. Amazon had a front blinker connector and it should arrive in a few days. Thanks for helping me find the solution LastRS.
