Default Question

I hear different things from different people and wanted to know if someone can help answer a question. Did any of the split bumper camaros have lights under the bumpers? I didn't think so but I am no expert. I am watching this car on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-...=p4506.c0.m245 I was just curious if the car is correct? If I ended up buying it I would want to put it back to the full bumper.

I believe you are right and that is incorrect but it's not an uncommon mod and could have been done many years ago.
The split bumper was an RS option and should have the round lights next to the headlights.

if it has rectangular parking lamps it IS NOT a split bumper car, As said, just a mod someone did, lots of people do it. Only split bumpers RS version had the round parking lamps.

Not only is that Fleabay car not a split bumper RS, it also doesn't have the RS nose extension and split grille with bar up the center. Just a plain old Camaro, with tiny little bumpers.

Just curious but do you have a pic to show for reference? I would like to see the difference you're talking about. I knew about the lights but I'm not sure exactly about what you're talking about.

Look at Y2K's picture. The split bumper grille has a vertical bar in the center, and the center section of the front nose has an extension piece that protrudes the center further out (you can see the seam). The differences in the marker lights has already been mentioned.

The grille's center piece is hard to spot, as the divider is painted to match, but it's there. The nose extension is about 2" deeper than the stock sheetmetal, and made of plastic.

Yeah, I knew that about the lights but not about the bar/seam deal. Cool info.
