quarter panel skin vs full
i just bought my 74 (which has some progressively bad rust along the quarter panels, around the rear window)afew months ago. this is the first car i ever bought on my own and i'm learning a lot haha. but i had a question i'm hoping anyone can answer-
what exactly is the difference between a rear quarter panel skin and a full rear quarter panel? i know that ideally i need the full panels for replacements but...the internet isa cruel place where only 1st gen full panels are sold lol. the skins are easy to find, but i'd like to know the difference between them, to see if the skins are worth getting.

A full quarter extends from the sail panel (approximately top of the rear window) down to the very bottom of the quarter. The front edge is complete in that it has the factory edge at the door jamb and runs to the back of the car. The rear edge will have the wrap-around that matches to the tail light panel. The top of the quarter panel meets the side of the trunk lid.
A skin is only the section that is basically the side of the car. There is no sail panel section or the top section that meets the trunk. The lower edges mate to the body just like a full quarter, but the front and rear have only a partial lip on the ends to wrap around the door jamb and rear edge of the quarter.
Full quarters are available for 2nd gens, go here :http://www.dynacorn.com/site/04home/home.html
look for part # 1066K or 1066J

I would be surprised if full quarters are an option on a 74. The 74s quarters are a bastard because it has the back window of a 73 and the tail lights of a 75. So basicly full quarters will fit 70-73 and 75-81.
