Quadrajet 4MV Choke Problem
So I have an '81 camaro with a 350 crate motor and a Quadrajet 4MV that doesnt like to run when the engine is cold and the tempature is below 60 out. If I start the car it doesn't idle high like it should, it idles real low and feels like it'll load up and die eventually. To keep it running i keep my foot on the pedal a little bit and it blubbers and misses, but stays running. Once the temp gauge hits about 130 degrees the car smooths out and runs perfect. What do you think is the problem? And what would i adjust on the choke to fix my issue here? thanks
sounds like the choke isn't working at all. What helps for cold starts is opening the intake ports, take off the port plugs (flat metal things you get with the gasket sets) so the carb heats up quicker, but check and see if you have power to the choke anyway.
