Project 73 Camaro RS Newbie needs advice
HiYall
first let me say awsome site, I look forward to making new friends and learning as I go.I just picked up a 1973 Camaro RS
VIN # 1Q87K3N128485( I will try to post pics) I decodedthe vin
and I am almost convinced its a true factory option RS, only 60,000 made.
It has the split bumper front end with parking lamps next to head light (not under bumper),disc brakes, power steering, power brakes. I have good news it is a pretty solid california car only surface rust and only missing instrument cluster, and needsa fender, grill, bumperto be replaced, also needs motor and trans. It has a 10 bolt rear end nota 12.
My questions are many but will start off with a few basics. do yall think this car is worth restoring? How much would yall say the car is worth as-is ? Also what will my return investment (worth)be if I restore it back to new, but with aftermarket re-production parts? I can not afford to go back number matching. will buy factory parts off e-bay when I find em cheap.
Next my original plan is to remove the body and have the frame sand blasted prime, paint and assemble the front of the frame with newbushings, tie rods,etc.. then slowing buildthe car. again I will post pics if I can.
All the help and advice is apprecieated.
Thanks Dom
