Default Pro Street Car On California Roads

My next door neighbor's general comment when he spots me outside:"Are you living the dream?" So................I decided to quite dreaming about it. When a teen, this boy had a very plan toy. Had some very fast boats and street bikes past years but not any that had 4 wheels. Now since I'm 65+old I want to go bold. I've come across a couple 71 Camaro Pro streets outside my area of Sacramento that look completely stock on the outside. With the narrowed rear-end hiding the monster tires & big Cubic Inches exhaling thru very unrestricted mufflers, how accepting will the police & Highway Patrol be?I know these cars are around my area so there must be some other pointers other than common sense to drive around occasionally, to stay off their radar.

I don't live in Cali. but if you do stupid stuff anywhere a cop can give you a hard time. My car rattles neighbors windows, and sets off car alarms (oops). But if I see a cop near, I go light on the throttle and just whistle as we cross paths. I spose if I were a teenager, I probably would have gotten some tickets, but cops around here tend to turn more of a deaf ear to the more "seasoned" drivers.

I agree a middle aged man will not draw attention like a twenty something. I know as I've gotten older I have been less tempted to display the cars capability on public roads. I used to get pulled over just to be told to not do anything dumb.

But at my age I'm old enough to know better but young enough to do it.

In California, don't they crush your car if you are caught street racing? That alone would keep my foot out the gas. Not mention me nearing 50.....I would look ridiculous being silly on the street!

I drive this around here in North Carolina, like said above, if you're being stupid with the car, cops shouldn't bother you. I do have fun with mine, but I make sure they are not around.

Time and a place for everything. So if you drive sanely on the street, I doubt the police will bother us old greybeards. I usually get a smile or thumbs up from police when they pull up next to me. I did have one incident with a motorcycle cop who didn't know the laws and followed me into the gas station to ask why I wasn't running a front plate. Once I explained the "special interest" plate law he was fine.
I drive these two all over town:
