Best value is lose weight, in the Camaro.

Losing weight is cheap HP gains, but it's nearly impossible to lose enough weight to feel a difference in HP gain. Best felt HP gains will be in a good cam, intake, carb, exhaust system, and heads. Depending on what you presently have, it will dictate what changes you want to make.

The car has a 350 4 bolt main engine with a 327 crank. Auto transmission.

What intake, carb, headers, cam, etc? Not enough info to discuss upgrades. So you really have a 327, since a 350 with a 327 crank is a 327 now.

Welcome and Congrats on your first Camaro. You may want to check the VIN and see what engine came in the car to confirm 305 versus a 350.
Eighth digit is engine code: A = 231ci V6, H = 305ci V8, J = 267ci V8, K = 229ci V6, L = 350ci V8

If true, then you have a 327 CID.
