I'm anxious too, and sounds like Sat. will be good weather, so I'm planning the trip to Hillsboro in the Austin. Hope my butt holds out in the gasser!

did you make it out there on sat.? im just wondering if there was any cars out there. from what i heard the dairy queen on friday had quite a few.

Yeah I made it out there. Should have gone to the Dairy Queen Fri. though! There was a Mustang club with nothing but new Mustangs in it took up a dozen spots. Then some group of old early 60's Chevy trucks(all pretty thrashed looking) took up probably another 10 spots. Maybe 8-12 other various neat rods. We stayed for maybe 1/2 hr. and took off.
If it gets taken over by groups with no variety it wont last long. I just can't get excited about a new Mustang (or any car) with just some wheels, or paint on it. And the trucks were just well used early to mid 60's Chevys, with nothing done to them inside or out, and not well kept in their life either. I couldn't figure out the theme, other than maybe rat rod trucks??
There were two nice Camaros, '67 and '68, plus one gorgeous '72 Chev 4x4. A beautiful black early Facon with a built 6cyl., and some other cool old cars.

i might check it out then when i come up for easter and get the 68 out and stretch its legs from its winter sleep. yeah i cant stand looking at a bunck of newer mustangs. i went to a all ford show last summer and i had never seen so many newer stangs in my life. very few rods or other muscle cars. it was still a fun show. Im excited for the papas toys open house in forest grove in may. that is a must go-to for any local rodder.

Yeah! papa's Toys is always a good one. Hope it doesn't conflict with Portland Tranny again! Portland Transmission is usually 700 cars or more, free coffee and donuts, free pop and lunch, plus free ice cream all day!
We always go there first, then out to Papa's after. It's usually winding down by the time we get there. Suburban Chevy in Sandy has moved their cruise to the same day as Portland Trans, and I bet it really hurts their turnout.

yeah i always go out to papas toys im buddies with grandson of the lady who owns all of those cars. were the same age and played football and went to high school together. they are the nicest people. and they have some amazing cars in their collection. my personal favorite out there is the black 62 bel air bubbletop with the 409hp 409 motor in it.

If the weather is decent I think I'll go out to the Dairy Queen this Friday. Is that on Farmington and 174th? Or is it closer in at 128th & Farmington?
