Polygraphite bushing help

RE: Polygraphite bushing help
I have just installed a control arm bushing set, but, I hav'nt put the arms in the car yet, I hav'nt had time. I can tell you that they installed very easily with no cursing, if you use the right tools. Use alot of that silicon lube they give you but go and buy more cause they dont give you enough. Don't buy the energy suspension bushings, they're ****, we put a set in my brothers 79 RS and three years later they had so much slop in them you can hear them cluncking they're 4 yrs. old now and they need to be replaced and they only have a 2 yr. warranty. PST and Moog are lifetime. Personaly I would'nt buy the complete front end kit just the bushings, because their front end parts are cheap made in China crap. I would only buy Moog. Since I've been to the tech center and seen how they test and engineer their components I wont buy anything else. Except for the bushings and shocks everything in the front end is Moog. I will warn you on the lower ball joints, mic them and check the fit before you try to press them in. Anyhting over .010 turn them down or you will split the arm or break the press. I've run into this twice now on 2nd gen Camaro's all the aftermarket manufacturers are making them about .030 over the origional joint, I split one arm and snaped a press before I miced them. I took it to the lathe and knocked off about .019 and they pressed right in. The tech line said they do that to alow for wear on the arm, which is B/S cause the hole springs back to it's origional size when you press the origional joint out, at least mine did according to the micrometer. As soon as I get the arms in I'll let you know how those bushings ride.
