Pls help, 67 brake prop/valve configuration
I need some help. I'm working on a friends 67 Camaro. He wants me to install a power brake unit onto his manual drums all-around brakes. I took it for a test drive and....man you gotta really stand on the brakes. Is this normal? It's been awhile since I've driven a non-power brake vehicle but this one feel extra hard to stop. It almost feels as if the rear wheel cylinders aren't getting enough pressure, but vehicle is not pulling to one side. I was looking at the proportioning valve just under the master cylinder and the line hook-up doesn't seem right.
I'm going to describe how it is currently connected and I'm hoping someone can confirm if this is correct or wrong.
PROP/VALVE: forward facing port....to driver front wheel
driver front port....to master cylinder front port
passenger front port....passenger front wheel
driver rear port.....to both rear wheels
rear facing port....to master cylinder rear port
Please help or if someone can tell me a website with the configuration. I know that a brake pressure gauge tester would be the tool for this but I don't have access to one. The line I'm really in question with is the one coming out of the brake master to driver front prop/valve port. Shouldn't it be going to the most forward facing port? Thanks to any replies
