Default Part Identification

Ok so Ive been cleaning up the car over the last few weeks and have been finding all the bits and pieces which are broken or needed replacing. Yesterday I found something I hadnt even noticed due to a buildup of leaves and dirt At the bottom of the windshield there is a recessed area with a plastic grill over it. Inside are the mechanics for the windshield wipers and Im assuming air passage for the HVAC inside the car. The car sat under a tree for many years so this entire area was filled with dirt and leaves and debris. On the passenger side I found a metal flap door connected to what looks like a small actuator and spring. Im thining its maybe part of the defroster ? Anyway its totaly rotted out from being under wet dirt/leaves for so long. My question, what is it and where can i get a replacement ? Thanks guys!

I don't think they repop that. It is for the ac though. When you turn on the ac the door shuts.

it has a vacuum line running to it. You will need to plug that vacuum line or you will have a vacuum leak.
