paint
Hey guys.
I started my painting process with using ppg deltron paint for my door jams and small spaces. Working part time at a napa store ( we only have been napa for a short time, was independent before) decided to give the martin senior paint a shot. ( to save some green backs )
I went to paint a small space on the pass. side door jam. And I have to say this stuff came out of my gun like garbage...I had all my air pressures set correctly and my gun set up. I guess just the reducer I have??? Could it be that it was a bit on the cold side???
My question is, how many of you guys use the napa paint with the (crossfire) reducer. ??? And have you had any luck??
Not very happy at the moment... wish I just stuck with the PPG and spent the extra money :/

Couple questions first.
1-Did you get reducer that's hot enough for the temperature you're shooting it? Better to error on a little hotter if there's a question.
2-Did you mix the reducer correctly, and did you strain the mixture before putting it in the gun? I strain everything thoroughly, as I've gotten crap in the tip that has really given me grief when spraying.
3-Do you use an inline dessicant dryer ahead of your gun? I have one mounted right at my gun to keep out moisture from the compressor.

not too sure of the paint you used. Was the hardener and reducer the same brand? If it came from the gun bad it wasn't temp. Do you have enough compressor to keep up with your paint gun. That is a common prob. Many people buy a great paint gun not realasing that they don't have enough air to keep up!
