original stereo

i have an 81 with the stock radio. does anyone have an idea on how to remove and to install a new one would i have to cut the plastic around the radio to make it bigger for a new one? thanks for your help

ya u have to take the ***** off the front and ya you do have to cut the plastic. i just finished installing a new radio on my 73 camaro. i used a filer to shave the plastic intot he right place. it took me awhile but it was definately worth the work

I put a new cd player in mine I had to remove the ***** and then I took a dremel tool with a cutting disk and cut the face out very carefuly so my new one could fit in.
