Hey guys/girls,

I had to sell my Camaro (for now...long story). Anyway, I kept the motor and am going to stick it in my truck (85 chevy 4X4).
I was going to put a edelbrock performer with an edelbrock 1407 (750 cfm I think) on the 400 in the camaro.
Folks are telling me that with the truck, I'd be happier with a 2 bbl carb for lower end torque. I have both setups ready to bolt on, but am now stuck at a crossroads.
I'd really like your input, I realize this isn't a camaro question, but I trust ya'lls opinions. Thanks, Ross

Oh gee, sorry! For the performance minded, 2 barrels only make good paperweights, end of argument! In no way, shape, or form, are you going to be happier with a 2 barrel over a 4 barrel.

If you want decent performance, and gas mileage, plus low end torque; then choose a smaller 4 barrel, not a 2 brl.
But if you already have the 750, then stick it on, and forget the 2 barrel. Put a block under your pedal and you'll have a 2 brl.

I'm driveing my Father's 69 C20 PU while I get my 78 Camaro going. Decent 4 barrell, headers/duel exhaust, rv cam, 350, rock grinder 4 speed (has compound low)...the thing is set up to pull...goes 0-45 before you know it.
As long as I keep my foot out of it (keeping the secondaries from opening to wide) the seat tank will last me 2 weeks (I work 2.5 miles away from home). 4 barrels are great, litterly gives afterburners to your set up.

Thanks for the advice ya'll. I way overthought that one. Everyone knows those trucks get crappy gas mileage. I should have gone with my gut from the git go. I took off the malfunctioning QJet I have on the current engine, and stuck on the Edelbrock, and am much happier already. It's going to require some tweaking (fewer vacuum inlets giving me fits), but still far better than before. I'll rebuild it before I put it on the new engine, but hopefully my DD can go back to being my DD. Again, thanks to all of you.

I will have another 2nd Gen soon. It just has to be a running project, or it'll turn into another hangar queen Mine went to a better home. It'll be loved and put back together by someone who has the time and money to devote to it.
Hope yall don't mind if I hang around here in the meantime and ask the occasional question (hopefully not as dumb as the last one, lol).
